Former USSR chess grandmaster Boris Spassky dies at 88
Boris Spassky, the Soviet chess grandmaster who learned to play as an orphan, eventually becoming the informal face of the USSR in the famous, politically-infused "match of the century" against eventual winner, American Bobby Fischer, died on Thursday at 88.
