Israeli government dismisses Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar over 'lack of trust'
The Israeli government on Friday sacked Ronen Bar, the head of its Shin Bet domestic intelligence agency, "unanimously" approving a proposal put forward by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Poor relations between Bar and Netanyahu originating before October 7, 2023 were exacerbated by a report revealing Shin Bet's failure to prevent the attacks.
