Marianne Faithfull, British pop star and muse of 1960s London, died at the age of 78 on Thursday, her promotion company said. A singer, songwriter and actress, Faithfull was a celebrity before turning 17, homeless by her mid-20s and an inspiration to peers and younger artists by her early 30s.
