The View thinks the Greenland trip flub was an attempt to distract from Signalgate

The ladies of "The View" mocked Vice President J.D. Vance and second lady Usha Vance for failing to properly stage a diplomatic visit and photo opportunity in Greenland.

It was announced that Mrs. Vance would visit the large Dutch island this week, but multiple reports said that they were unable to find anyone in Greenland willing to greet her upon arrival. The event then turned into an official visit with the vice president.

“There was so much excitement around Usha’s visit to Greenland this Friday that I decided that I didn’t want her to have all that fun by herself, and so I’m going to join her,” JD Vance said Tuesday in a video posted to X.

It came just after a bombshell report from The Atlantic revealed top administration officials were included in an unsecured Signal chat about a military strike on Yemen.

"He's basically going to a U.S. military base and disappearing," said former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin on Friday's episode of "The View."

She recalled traveling the world with former Vice President Mike Pence, and that they were eager to speak with him because they felt like he believed in international alliances.

"It was an open secret that European leaders preferred to meet with Pence over Donald Trump," she continued. "And it wasn't that he was soft on, 'Oh, NATO doesn't need to pay their fair share.' He delivered the exact same message about Europeans pulling their weight on the international stage, but he did it through diplomacy and not bullying. I just don't know what he's doing."

Ana Navarro said that folks should look to the Trump administration and "ask why."

"But this week, the reason I think J.D. Vance all of the sudden is showing up in Greenland is to distract from the debacle that is the national security breach that all America has seen with the Signal [scandal]," Navarro continued.
